- Reverse Osmosis removes up to 99% of total dissolved solids.

- Fouling resistant elements reduce cleaning requirements and operational cost
- iLEC™ interlocking elements are available in some models and offer the following benefits:
- Reliable and long-term seal integrity – The single, non-sliding seal reduces the number of potential leak sites and is evenly compressed upon installation.
- Leak-tight performance – The iLEC design eliminates the possibility of o-rings being rolled from their grooves or pinched and damaged during operation.
- Lubricant-free operation – Omission of o-ring lubricant to preserve permeate quality, such as in ultra-pure water applications, will not compromise sealing performance.
- Backward compatibility – Compatibility with existing hardware is maintained. The smooth inner bore located at each end of the permeate collection tube is unchanged, permitting insertion of sliding couplers and existing vessel adapters. The net length of the elements, when connected, remains 40 inches.
- Reduced permeate pressure drop – Internal couplers and vessel adapters account for more than 70 percent of the permeate-tube pressure drop in some systems. The interlocking endcap design minimizes these restrictions, imposing less permeate backpressure.

The DOW FILMTEC low energy and extra low energy, high productivity brackish water reverse osmosis elements are designed to deliver high quality water at low operating costs for municipal and industrial water applications. DOW FilmTec LE and XLE Elements provide lower energy costs and more productivity, especially in cold waters, and minimize equipment CAPEX in designs with savings in elements and pumping.

Fouling Resistant DOW FilmTec RO Membrane Elements
DOW FILMTEC Fouling Resistant reverse osmosis elements incorporate Dow's proprietary FR (fouling resistant) membrane technology that provides excellent fouling resistance and cleanability and are designed to purify water with high biological or organic fouling potential in systems with well-controlled pretreatment. This high rejection membrane has a wide pH cleaning range (pH 1-13) that allows for effective cleaning of scale, organic compounds, and biofilm. These features offer system operators some of the best long-term economics and most trouble-free operation for RO membrane purification of fouling water.
