AMI Containerized RO System Delivers 1.5 MGD for Westlands Water District
AMI is proud to be part of Westlands Water District's innovative Desalination & On-Farm Recycling Project in California.
An AMI containerized reverse osmosis system with pre-treatment is helping transform marginal groundwater into a reliable, high-quality irrigation supply, producing 1.5 MGD (5,678 m³/d) of high-quality water.
Even more impactful is the project’s full-cycle approach: the concentrate stream is reused to irrigate salt-tolerant crops such as wheatgrass, mustard, and barley. These crops become rich in nutrients and can be harvested as livestock feed—turning a waste stream into a beneficial use.
This project demonstrates how AMI’s advanced water treatment solutions can help drought-prone regions unlock new local supplies while reducing environmental impact.
AMI is honored to support farmers, strengthen communities, and redefine what is possible in water treatment. The solution was designed and built at AMI’s state-of-the-art ISO-certified, UL-listed manufacturing facility in Vista, CA.
