Applied Membranes Inc. (AMI) Partners with NX Filtration for Pharmaceutical Wastewater Reuse in the U.S.
Vista, California, USA
Applied Membranes Inc. (AMI) announces its collaboration with NX Filtration to support advanced pharmaceutical wastewater reuse in the United States.
Under this project, AMI will implement NX Filtration’s hollow fiber nanofiltration (HFNF) membrane technology for a pharmaceutical manufacturer seeking to reduce freshwater intake and wastewater discharge by reusing process water.
AMI selected NX Filtration’s HFNF membranes to address high concentrations of organic compounds in the wastewater stream. When combined with reverse osmosis (RO), the integrated solution enables efficient, reliable, and sustainable water reuse for demanding pharmaceutical applications.
Manisha Dhawan, VP at AMI, commented:
“NX Filtration’s HFNF membranes deliver the performance required for this challenging pharmaceutical application. The strong organic removal combined with high recovery allows our customer to safely reuse process water.”
This project highlights how advanced membrane technologies can support sustainable water management in high-value industrial sectors. By effectively removing organics prior to RO, the system reduces fouling, lowers chemical consumption, and improves overall operational reliability.
